Abstract

Presentation of the case of a patient with a diagnosis of skin melanoma with metastasis, who does not accept the intervention measures proposed by the treating specialist and in return requests to receive palliative treatment, citing the non-justification of the treatment due to its non-curative nature. The treating doctor does not accept the patient's request and invokes Conscientious Objection to terminate the doctor-patient relationship. The patient requests the support of the hospital ethics committee, who agrees with him and informs the doctor of the obligation to continue assisting the patient.
