Abstract

Cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE) is a chronic, autoimmune, inflammatory disease that presents a diversity of clinical patterns with variable evolution, prognosis, and that it can present with or without systemic disease. It is a rare disorder in childhood, even more in male gender. In this article, we describe 2 male children with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and different cutaneous involvement. Clinic and current classification of childhood cutaneous lupus erythematosus are discussed and compared with the adult forms of this disease.
