A benefit plan administrator company decides to establish incentives for affiliated and professionally linked physicians, which control health spending, reducing the required laboratory tests and the formulation of
medications. Doctors who are unable to place themselves below the maximum limit established for these two items are removed from their relationship with the company. Retired medical professionals question the measure established by the company, considering it violates quality and ethics in the provision of health services. An analysis from the ethics of these policies of rationalization of health spending is carried out.
