Abstract

Atypical fibroxanthoma (AFX) is a tumor that appears in elderly patients, with a history of photo exposure, with a higher incidence of cases in the head and neck. It is a dermal neoplasm that does not present an invasion of subcutaneous or lymphovascular or perineural tissue. They are tumors made up of histiocytoid, spindle, epithelioid and giant multinucleated cells with pleomorphic nuclei. There are no epidemiological figures regarding the incidence in Colombia, however it has been reported that the incidence of AFX in Spain is of 0.59 cases/100,000 inhabitants, therefore it is recognized that it is a low-incidence tumor. (1) Here we report 3 cases of patients who presented atypical fibroxanthomas in different anatomical locations.
