A doctor, specialist in occupational and occupational medicine, works as head of the occupational health area in a large company. In compliance with its responsibilities for the health of workers, it begins to identify an unusual frequency of moderate to severe dermatological lesions, probably of an allergic nature, in a good number of workers. Proceed to provide appropriate treatment for these lesions when they are not severe or to refer those who have extensive or very pruritic lesions to a specialized dermatology service at a health institution. In general, therapeutic results are good, but recurrence occurs when workers return to work. After much investigation and as a result of an imvestigation, he concludes that these injuries are associated with a new input acquired by the company to which many workers are exposed during their daily work. He decides to discuss the case with the director of labor relations and, in turn, with the manager, who decide that the information should not be revealed to the workers because it could have the effect of having to give up this input, affecting the company's finances.
The Doctor feels that he is facing an ethical dilemma that is difficult to resolve and decides to consult with an ethics expert.
