Presentation of a clinical case of a patient with uncontrolled diabetes mellitus due to lack of follow-up on the part of the patient of the recommendations and treatments prescribed by his doctor. Faced with the loss of his job due to poor
performance and failure to comply with his obligations, he asks his treating doctor to certify his total disability in order to obtain a disability pension and thus maintain the income to support his family. The doctor is faced with the
ethical dilemma between accessing the patient's request or giving an objective professional concept.
Based on ethical principles, the doctor's actions and their responsibility in the case are analyzed.
