Granulomatous dermatitis is defined as a distinctive inflammatory pattern characterized by the presence of granulomas, representing a diagnostic challenge for pathologists given the identical histologic pattern produced by several entities, and inversely a unique cause may itself produce several histologic patterns. In general, all granulomatous infiltrates require the exclusion of an infectious agent or foreign body by means of special stains required for microorganisms and polarized microscopy. However, it must be considered that at the time of observing a histologic section many inflammatory and some tumoral conditions, may exhibit a granulomatous pattern reaction as a characteristic histologic finding.
It will be presenting five cases, four of which have an inflammatory nature, and one tumoral. In all cases the histology will mostly exhibit granulomas or findings that simulate them.
