Prurito, detrás del síntoma

Aproximadamente un 50% de los pacientes que consultan a dermatología refieren prurito como síntoma cardinal, siendo en muchos casos la primera manifestación de patologías sistémicas. Por lo tanto, ante un paciente con prurito, se debe hacer una evaluación sistemática para dar un manejo adecuado.
En este artículo se hace una revisión de su patogénesis, el enfoque del paciente con prurito y algunos aspectos terapéuticos.
