Abstract

The angiosarcoma of the scalp is a vascular, rare and aggressive tumor affecting mainly elderly people. The main problem of these tumors is the clinical and histological diagnosis. It is usually characterized by red or violet plaques or nodules, which evolve to ulceration and superinfection, with a bad prognosis. Clinically these lesions are not specific to angiosarcoma, so the differential diagnosis includes Kaposi’ sarcoma and other sarcomas.
We present the case of a 59-year-old patient, with differential diagnosis of the scalp lesion, and through the immunohistochemical panel the definitive diagnosis of angiosarcoma was confirmed.
