LINEAR DISCOID LUPUS ERYTHEMATOSUS ASSOCIATED WITH SYSTEMIC LUPUS ERYTHEMATOSUS: CASE REPORT AND LITERATURE REVIEW

Linear discoid lupus erythematosus is a chronic disease of unknown etiology. It is characterized by erythematosus plaques that follow Blaschko’s lines and is an unusual variant of discoid lupus erythematosus. The present review describes the case of a female patient who consulted for a lesion on the face and an alopecic area on the scalp associated with manifestations of systemic lupus erythematosus; an adequate response to pharmacological treatment was presented. The search for scientific articles for the development of this report was conducted in the following databases: ClinicalKey, Ovid, and PubMed. It is currently the first clinical case report described of linear discoid lupus erythematosus associated with systemic lupus erythematosus. A literature review will be conducted.
