Abstract

Cryoglobulins are immunoglobulins that precipitate at low temperatures (below 37 °C, and dissolve again with heat), and are associated with many infections, autoimmune diseases and neoplastic disorders. Symptoms mainly occur through two main mechanisms, vasculitis due to immune complex deposits in vessel walls and tissue ischemia as a direct result of vessel occlusion. Treatment must target the underlying disease, although in some cases it may require immunosuppressor management
