Pityriasis rubra pilaris is a rare, chronic, erythematous-squamos disease of unknow origin that causes alterations in the keratinization of the epidermis. It is characterized by the presence of follicular papules, salmon-colored plaques interspersed with areas of normal skin, and palmoplantar keratoderma. We present the case of a 6-year-old boy from the province of Ciego de Ávila, Cuba, treated at the dermatology service of the Juan Manuel Marquez Pediatric Hospital in Havana.
