Aproximadamente el 15-20% de la población ha sufrido de urticaria alguna vez en su vida, sien do esta patología una causa frecuente de consulta. Este artículo hace una revisión, tanto de su patogénesis, con énfasis en la célula blanco "el mastocito", como en su manejo, que incluye los antihistamínicos y otros medicamentos disponibles. La revisión comprende las urti carias aguda, crónica y física.
