Keywords:

The pigmentation of the stratum corneum by silver nitrate is a very rare disease caused by particles of silver impregnation, using substances containing silver nitrate, which reacts with sweat chlorine and form silver chloride, which is reduced by ultraviolet light and color is black colloidal particles that persist in the epidermis. The pigmentation occurs shortly after the introduction of metal and disappears weeks after suspension of the product without a specific treatment. Clinically, it may mimic melanocytic lesions, but on histopathology multiple black or dark brown granules are evident in the stratum corneum without alteration in melanocytes.
