Abstract

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by exaggerated proliferation of keratinocytes. It is classified into different subtypes according morphological appearance of the lesions, including plaque, guttate, pustular, and erythrodermic forms; but rare variants are also reported, some of them with excessively hyperkeratoticlike psoriasis ostreacea, elephantine, pseudocorneal and rupioides, this last named due to the similarity with the rupia of secondary syphilis. For the purpose of identifying the clinical characteristics and therapeutic response, is presented a case of rupioid psoriasis in a man of 37 years old.
