Abstract

Spitz nevus is a benign melanocytic lesion composed of epithelioid, fusiform and/or big cells frequently found in childhood. Typically they are small melanocytic lesions, of less than 6 mm diameter with benign histological features: regular architecture, few or absent mitosis and lack of cellular atypia. The two most frequent dermoscopic hallmarks are starburst and dotted vascular pattern. Conservative vs excisional management relies on clinical features and patient age.
