Abstract

Solar urticaria is a rare and chronic entity, representing 0.08% of patients with chronic urticaria. It especially affects women; the appearance of itching, erythema or hives occurs in areas exposed to solar radiation or artificial light sources, they appear in the first hours after exposure and disappear in a maximum time of 24 hours; some patients may present systemic symptoms such as headache, nausea, mucosal compromise and even anaphylaxis. It is a condition that can greatly affect quality of life and is often associated with psychiatric disorders. We present below a clinical case of UVB light solar urticaria that has generated a secondary depressive disorder.
