Pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) is an inflammatory neutrophilic dermatosis described for the first time by Brunsting et al. in 1930 (1,2). It is not often in childhood, representing only 4% of PG. In children, predominate pustules that subsequently get ulcerated, with the most common presentation being multiple and disseminated ulcerative lesions that mainly involve lower extremities (1). It is tipically associated with systemic diseases such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), rheumatoid arthritis and hematological discrasias, however there are cases not associated with illness. Diagnosis is based on clinical results and the course of the disease, in addition to ruling out other pathologies, mostly infections. Histologic findings may be nonspecific, but the presence of subcorneal pustules, neutrophilic inflammatory infiltrate, fibrosis, ulceration, and necrosis help in diagnosis (1,3,4).
