Tumor de Masson: neoplasia vascular benigna inusual

La hiperplasia endotelial papilar intravascular, también conocido como tumor de Masson, es una patología be
nigna poco común, que tiene predilección por la aparición en la región de la cabeza y el cuello. Se han descrito
presentaciones inusuales en regiones óseas, oculares y en el sistema nervioso central. La clínica e imágenes diag
nósticas son inespecíficas, por lo cual el diagnóstico se realiza con métodos histopatológicos, estudiando sus
características histológicas e inmunohistoquímicas. El diagnóstico diferencial abarca entidades benignas y ma
lignas debido a sus similitudes histológicas, en especial atención a descartar osteosarcoma y sarcoma de Kaposi
por su comportamiento agresivo.
