Abstract

Chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) is a disease with a high health burden and a high impact on the quality of life for patients. In recent years, various international guidelines have developed treatment proposals based on the best available evidence. However, the recommendations contained in these documents cannot always be applied in medical practice, especially for Primary Care physicians. Five scientific associations from Colombia sought to identify the possible barriers that Primary Care physicians face to comply with the recommendations of international guidelines. After identifying the barriers, the authors proposed some solutions that could help achieve timely management for the patient from Primary Care.
