Guía de práctica clínica para el manejo del acné en Colombia

Introducción: el acné es la enfermedad inflamatoria cutánea más prevalente en el país, que afecta a adolescentes y adultos jóvenes. En Colombia, se ha encontrado una alta variabilidad en la atención de esta condición, por lo que se requiere de una guía de práctica clínica adaptada al contexto nacional, fundamentada en la mejor evidencia disponible.
Métodos: esta guía fue desarrollada por un equipo multidisciplinario de especialistas y un grupo metodológico experto. Se realizaron revisiones sistemáticas de la literatura y evaluación crítica de la evidencia. Se aplicó la metodología GRADE para evaluar la calidad de la evidencia y la solidez de las recomendaciones. Se utilizó el marco de evidencia a la decisión para la formulación de las recomendaciones.
Resultados: se elaboraron recomendaciones, que incluyen fuerza y certeza de la evidencia, dirigidas al uso de limpiadores, humectantes y fotoprotección, además de orientaciones sobre el uso de antibióticos, anticonceptivos orales combinados e isotretinoína, la necesidad de terapia de mantenimiento, el manejo de las secuelas y la realización de seguimiento clínico. Se consideraron el beneficio clínico demostrado y el uso racional de los recursos, destacando la toma de decisiones individualizada, las preferencias del paciente y la disponibilidad de las intervenciones en el país.
Conclusiones: esta guía proporciona recomendaciones para el manejo del acné basadas en la mejor evidencia y adaptadas al contexto nacional, con el propósito de optimizar la atención, promover el uso racional de los recursos y reducir la variabilidad clínica. Su implementación busca apoyar la toma de decisiones compartidas, favorecer la adherencia terapéutica y mejorar la calidad de vida de las personas con acné.
