Acné: Revisión y Actualización

El acné es la enfermedad cutánea más común y afecta alrededor del 85% de la población comprendida entre los 12 y los 25 años de edad.
La causa básica es desconocida.
Hay 4 eventos principales:
1. Alteración en la queratinización folicular.
2. Aumento en la producción de sebo.
3. Proliferación del P. acnés.
4. Inflamación
El tratamiento se hace con drogas tópicas: Tretinoina, peróxido de benzoilo, antibióticos principalmente eritromicina y clindamicina, ácido azelaico o isotretinoína tópica. Y con drogas de uso sistémico principalmente antibióticos como tetraciclina y sus derivados, eritromicina y trimetoprim sulfa.
En casos especiales se da terapia hormonal y en los más severos y resistentes se usa la Isotretinoína.
